Meet the Cuisinart DCC-1200 12-Cup Brew Central Coffeemaker: A Brewing Magician

Then, I proceed to Amazon and after reading many reviews on different coffee makers, I decided to purchase the Cuisinart DCC 1200 12 Cup Brew Coffee Maker , which can brew up to 12 5 ounce cups of coffee. I’m very impressed with all the positive reviews on Amazon and this coffee maker looks like a killer machine when it comes to usability and performance. After manhandling this coffee maker for some time, I’m very satisfied with my purchase and I’ll gladly recommend it to all coffee addicts.

Design wise, the Cuisinart DCC 1200 sports a retro style with its exterior made by stainless steel giving it a brushed metal look. Honestly, prior to tasting the coffee, the most impressive factor is the style of this coffee maker. Well, everybody likes to have a nice looking and sleek coffee machine standing on their kitchen counters, don’t you?
The cuisinart DCC 1200 is not entirely made up of stainless steel. As you can see from the picture, there are also some plastic parts, such as the carafe lid and the handle. However, they are different from the standard lightweight plastic materials. Instead, they are high grade heavy plastic which gives the coffee maker a solid build and a premium feel.
Although some users have complains on the plastic creaking during the brewing process, it has not been a major issue to me as the creaks are very soft and it is probably due to the expansion of the plastic under the high temperature. Hence I felt it is of no major concern. Another issue that other users pointed out is the fingerprint prone surface of the stainless steel exterior. Well, I would trade the exterior of the Cuisinart DCC 1200 over a soft plastic surface anytime because this is how good the materials are.

There are a couple of features that helps this unit to brew a good cup of coffee. The Cusinart DCC 1200 has a built in charcoal water filter that removes the chlorine, sodium and other chemicals that could affect the texture and taste of your coffee. This explains why the brewed coffee has such a smooth texture. In addition, there is also a light notification system which prompts you to remove the built up calcium in the coffee maker. Not to worry, this can be easily done by pouring in a large bowl of water with vinegar. This concludes all the cleaning procedures as the Cusinart DCC 1200 has a self cleaning mechanism.
On an extra note, this carafe warmer can keep your coffee at high, medium, and low temperatures. Some other coffee makers might not provide your desired cup of hot coffee, but the heating function of the Cuisinart DCC 1200 is very efficient. You will like this coffee maker if you enjoy a cup of pipping hot coffee.
The Cuisinart DCC 1200 also has some minor features which are nice additions to a coffee maker. It has a function to switch between two brewing capacity of 1 to 4 cups or 5 to 12 cups of coffee. This is a sweet feature when you do not need a large pot of coffee. It also has a brew pause function, allowing you to pour yourself a cup of coffee if you cannot wait any longer during the brewing process. On top of that, the coffee maker has a 24 hour clock plus timer that allows you to program the brewing timing. When the brewing is done, the unit will beep five times as an alert. Just imagine waking up to the smell of fresh coffee aroma, and this is what the Cuisinart DCC 1200 is capable of.

Well, after all the impressive design and extra features, it all boils down to the performance of the coffee maker. The most important function of any coffee makers is to brew a cup of flavorful, rich and strong coffee. Well, I can say that the Cusinart DCC 1200 excels in this area, trouncing all my previous coffee makers. This coffee maker brews the best home made coffee I have taste in a while, and I can even compare it to cafes and restaurants. That is how good the coffee tastes. Furthermore, it is simple and easy to manipulate, making it a wonderful addition in your kitchen.
